After a quick debrief of our quiz from yesterday we discussed different professions that utilize the skills we are learning as we study Physics. Engineering uses a lot of practical application of physics concepts. We watched the video to the right as a brief overview of what Engineers do. Then we learned the formula for acceleration and began some practice problems.

Gold Tape Question: Watch another video from the Crash Course Engineering Series and write a one paragraph summary of what you learned about engineering.

]]>B-C = Constant Speed

C-D = Negative Acceleration

E-F = Slow Constant Speed

Today we practiced solving for speed, distance, and time using the equations we worked out last week. We also watched the super-rad video on motion from Dr. Skateboard. If you missed it or want to see it again, check it out in the video to the right! |

In class today we finished our Hot Wheels lab, you can see an example of the finished data analysis and graph below. Also we watched a music video about speed and velocity which we will be talking much more about starting Monday. Have a great weekend!

Gold Tape Question: According to Mr. P ( From Flipping Physics, not Mr. Powell) What is the best definition of mass? hint: Watch the video "Introduction to Inertia" below to find out the answer!

Today we competed against each other to see who could flick an index card out from under the biggest stack of pennies. We also did an experiment crashing a scooter into some books with various passengers including a dodgeball, basketball, and bowling ball. All of the experiments today demonstrated Newton's first law, the law of inertia. Watch the video to the right to see a recap of our day!
