Card Flick and Newton's First Law

1/31/2019

Today we competed against each other to see who could flick an index card out from under the biggest stack of pennies. We also did an experiment crashing a scooter into some books with various passengers including a dodgeball, basketball, and bowling ball. All of the experiments today demonstrated Newton's first law, the law of inertia. Watch the video to the right to see a recap of our day!

Electron Shells

Today we talked about why reactions happen in the first place. It all has to do with energy and electrons. Electrons can't go where ever they want in an atom but rather have very specific locations where they can hang out. These places are called levels or shells. Use the video to the right to review how many electrons can fit in each of the different shells.
