Fossils of the Grand Valley

In class today students examined a set of fossils collected from the Debeque Formation. By examining Coryphodon, Ceratosuchus, and Gastropod fossils,  as well as many types of ecosystems, students are able to hypothesize what the Grand Valley's ecosystem may have been like millions of years ago when our fossils were actually live animals roaming the area. Tomorrow students will begin to apply all of their research from the last two days and attempt to build a detailed picture of what the Grand Valley was like millions of years ago.
