Frame of Reference Continued and Speed

      We continued our investigation of Frame of Reference today and watched our first Flipping Physics video, which further explained what a frame of reference is: Frame of Reference: The position from which motion is observed.
            Now that we've determine how we know something is moving, we can model that motion and determine how fast that object is moving. We built our first distance vs. time graph of a student walking across the room. Based on our graph we observed that the slope of the line on a distance vs. time graph tells us the speed of the moving object and that the formula for speed is:​​

      Then we rolled a dodgeball, basketball, and bowling ball down the hallway. The balls all traveled 10 meters and we recorded the time that each of them took on their journey. We returned to class and solved for the speed of each of the balls then graphed our results.
